Chalet Mamiray is a beautiful and typically alpine chalet. Its position offers mind-blowing views across the valleys, as well as access to both French and Italian slopes. A shuttle bus stops right outside the chalet every 15 minutes to take you up to the snow lifts and resort bars, or it’s just a 10 minute walk by foot. The opportunity to enjoy lunch in Italy, and dinner in France definitely offers a unique aspect to this chalet!
Chalet Mamiray is all about the incredible panoramic views and rustic alpine feel. Spread over three floors, Mamiray has three double rooms, three twins, a triple and a single room.
The ground floor has one double bedroom with en-suite shower, three twin bedrooms, two shower rooms and two separate toilets. The middle floor has one double bedroom with an en-suite bath/shower, WC and a private balcony. There is a second double bedroom on this floor with a WC, and separate shower room opposite. This floor has our cozy lounge and kitchen. There is a wraparound south facing balcony with views across the Tarentaise Valley, perfect for mountain sunsets! The top floor has a triple bedroom (three single beds), and a cozy single bedroom (you may bang your head if you’re tall!) as well as a bathroom with a shower and WC. The staff bedroom is also on this floor. There is ample parking outside the chalet for any self-drivers.
La Rosiere is a stunning, traditional French mountain resort connected to the adjacent village of Les Eucherts by an alpine forest walk. It’s the perfect size to explore on foot, and has a whole host of activities within the resort - take a St. Bernard dog for a stroll, join a snow shoe trek, or just hit the spectacularly scenic sun terraces at the many bars to sit in the sun with a beer. Being linked to Italy means access to Italian hot chocolate, ice cream, pasta or pizza for seriously cheap - and you don’t even need to take your passport!
Of course, the nightlife is essential to a Bura break. Apres ski beers can be enjoyed on the slopes, or at the bars in resort where the toffee vodka starts flowing freely while the sun still has many hours left in the sky. The Bura team have explored extensively the local drinking spots, so we’re more than happy to show you around our favourite bars. For the late nights, several of the bars have fancy dress parties, live bands and DJs.
Fancy a day off skiing/boarding? Here’s a list of other La Rosiere alpine activities we can help organise for you: Snow shoe walking, ice rink/10 pin bowling in Les Eucherts, snow kiting, para-gliding, heliskiing, cinema, paret-ing (hurtling down the slopes on a wooden sledge) or torchlit descent.
La Rosiere has one of the best snow and sunshine records in the Alps, but the great thing about the resort is the lack of queues and crowded pistes. Even during peak weeks, you'll never have to queue for a lift and for the majority of the season you'll feel like you have the runs all to yourself. We have over 150km of pistes connecting the French resorts of La Rosiere and Les Eucherts, to the Italian resort of La Thuile.
For beginners, the nursery slopes are just next to the main ski lifts, with two free button lifts to try out your new snow skills. There are a number of wide, open slopes to make a seamless transition onto blue runs. With awesome ski schools and gentle pistes, you’ll be exploring all over La Rosiere in no time.
Intermediates can venture all over La Rosiere confidently without having to encounter any scary slopes – unless by choice! We’d suggest exploring the Italian resort of La Thuile to test your new snow skills, and there’s a beautiful, super fun tree-lined run into La Thuile which is the perfect way to work up an appetite for a pizza!
For the advanced snow addict, the variety of off-piste sections in both La Rosiere and La Thuile are superb. After a fresh dump of snow, make sure you’re on the first lift to trace couloirs and tree runs down into Seez, or hire an off-piste guide to show you the best places for powder. There are some testing black runs into La Thuile, with hair-raising sheer descents. We’ve got a board park, a boardercross track and we can arrange heliskiing & boarding for the most adventurous thrill-seekers!
For intermediate and advanced skiers/boarders, we offer guiding of the Italian resort of La Thuile’s best runs, and restaurants!
A 6 day lift pass to cover the entire Espace San Bernardo ski area (La Rosiere, France & La Thuile, Italy) is included in your package.
There are 2 free drag lifts on the beginner slopes of the La Rosiere ski area so for absolute beginners, we recommend a 4 day pass (the beginner slopes are great for 2 days but you might get bored if you're on them for any longer!) If you'd like a 4 day pass, please let us know and we'll subtract £40 from your total cost.
Child discounts: £40 off for a 6 day pass, and £80 off for a 4 day pass.
A choice of the following hire gear packages are included in the package price:
Beginner ski / board package (skis, boots and poles, or board and boots)
Intermediate ski / board package (skis, boots and poles, or board and boots)
Advanced ski / board package (skis, boots and poles, or board and boots)
We have wide range of Never Summer and Burton boards suitable for any size and standard of rider - beginners too!

Please note – helmets are not included in the package but can be added on for an extra £15pp. Child helmets (12 and under) are included in the package.

Alternatively there are private lessons available:
1 x 1hr private lesson (1-2 people – price per instructor) £50
1 x 1hr private lesson (3-6 people – price per instructor) £60
1 x 2hr private lesson (1-2 people – price per instructor) £100
1 x 2hr private lesson (3-6 people – price per instructor) £120
We can also arrange off-piste guiding and tuition, freestyle / board park tuition or helisking. If you are already proficient skiers / boarders (red runs and above) we offer guiding of the Italian resort of La Thuile’s best runs (and mountain restaurants!) free of charge.
Airport transfers are included in your package and can be from either Geneva or Chambery airports.
Our transfers on the outbound journey depart Geneva at 1400 approx. so we ask for flights to land as close as possible to this time to avoid you having to wait for too long at the airport (however of course if you wish to get an early flight, which are often the cheapest option, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants etc. do spend some time before the transfer).
On the return journey, we leave the chalet at approx. 7am to ensure there is ample time to reach the airport, particularly in peak weeks when traffic is busy, or when there is heavy snow fall. We ask that no departure flights are booked to depart Geneva prior to 12.30pm at the earliest. If you have a later return flight and have some time to spare, when we drop you at Geneva airport we can direct you to left luggage and there is a train from the airport terminal into Geneva centre which only takes 7 minutes and is a nice way to spend the afternoon or have a long lunch.
Transfers to / from Chambery airport are also possible. Our transfer minibuses can travel via Chambery airport en route from Geneva to the chalet (and vice versa on the return journey).
The transfer minibus will pass through Chambery at approx. 1530 on the outbound journey and around 0830-0900 on the homeward journey, so we require flights into Chambery to land before 1430 and depart the following week after 1130.
There is a surcharge for the Chambery pickup / drop off of £20pp.
No need to book the whole chalet, just book the room or rooms of your choice.
An under-occupancy charge will apply if, for instance, you have one person in a twin / double room, two people in a triple room or three people in a quad room (£250 per bed).
All prices quoted include the full package of catered chalet accommodation, 6 day full area lift pass, ski or snowboard hire and return airport transfers (subject to flight times) from Geneva or Chambery airports.
Discounts are available for kids aged 12 and under or having your own ski or snowboard equipment.
Prices do not include flights or travel insurance.
All holidays can be paid for in interest-free monthly instalments from the time of booking until the month prior to the holiday starting. Exact instalment amounts will be advised upon receiving your booking requirements.
