Chalet Pierra Menta is positioned in the very middle of the world’s 4th largest ski area, with an outdoor hot tub and sauna to unwind and soothe sore muscles after a day exploring the slopes. This fully catered chalet sleeps 14 people and it’s just a 400 metre walk from the lobster pot lifts that take you up to access the entire Paradiski area. Snow permitting, you can ski right back to the chalet!
Pierra Menta is a spacious and luxurious chalet. Spread over three floors it has six bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. The ground floor is home to the 4-person (with bunks) bedroom. Also on the ground floor, there’s a sauna, an extra shower room as well as our heated boot drying and ski rack room.
The middle floor has an ensuite double bedroom and is also where you’ll find our huge, open plan lounge. We've got comfy sofas, with a TV & DVD player, large dining table and kitchen. With a south facing balcony and views over the Bellecote mountain, this is a light, bright space to chill out after a day shredding the mountains.
The top floor has the remaining four bedrooms. Two twin rooms with en-suite showers and WCs and two twin rooms with an en-suite bath, shower and WC. There is a large shared balcony connecting the two twins with baths, giving spectacular views across the valley.
Peisey is right in the middle of the Paradiski ski area - the 4th biggest
in the world.
Chalet Pierra Menta is a short 5 minute walk to the 'lobster pot' lifts in the centre of Peisey and these take you into the centre of Plan Peisey with the main links to the huge ski areas of Les Arcs and La Plagne.
Peisey itself is a beautiful traditional Savoyard village with a whole heap of bars and cafes around the Peisey villages to grab an après-ski beer and have an evening out. Nightlife in Chalet Pierra Menta usually involves a few après beers before heading back to the chalet for a sauna and hot tub followed by getting into the unlimited free wine during and after dinner.
Stunning views down the valley and a great snow record mean Bura guests keep coming back to our chalet in Peisey and we're pretty sure you'll love it too!
The Paradiski area offers access to the vast resorts of Les Arcs and La Plagne through the Vanoise Express Cable Car. With the glaciers du Varet, Bellecote and de la Chiaupe, we can boast excellent snow from December to April, and huge amounts of pistes.
For beginners there are a number of slopes offering wide, open pistes, and excellent ski schools to ensure you can make the most of your stay. You can even ski all the way to and from Arc 1800 without leaving blue runs. For non-skiers or if you’re feeling a tad hungover, hop on the Vanoise Express for epic views of Mont Blanc and the Vanoise. Ski back to Vallandry on the “La Forêt” run - one of the longest beginner-level ski runs in Europe, winding through the Alpine woodland.
Intermediates can enjoy the vast amounts of blue and red runs, and the lower half of the mountain at 1600m-1800m offers some great routes through the trees suitable for mixed ability groups. Peisey-Vallandry itself has more than enough pistes to keep you busy carving all week, but we’d suggest exploring Les Arcs or La Plagne to test your improving snow skills.
For the more advanced snow addict, the off-piste is unbeatable through sheer quantity of snow terrain, offering untraced powder, great tree runs, and secret, secluded spots to build a kicker or two. The insane amount of slopes here means the Paradiski ski area is a must for the adventurous Bura boarder / skier. There’s boardercross runs, as well as L’Apocolypse Park, a freestyle zone for snowboarders and an avalanche training centre to take your backcountry skiing to the next level. From boarding down the north face of Bellecote, one of the most famed off-piste sections in the Alps with a guide, or perfecting your snow tricks at the Les Arcs half-pipe - you’ll find it impossible to get bored of the superb quality and genuinely challenging level and variety of terrain here.

Airport transfers are included in your package and can be from either Geneva or Chambery airports.
Our transfers on the outbound journey depart Geneva at 1400 approx. so we ask for flights to land as close as possible to this time to avoid you having to wait for too long at the airport (however of course if you wish to get an early flight, which are often the cheapest option, there are plenty of cafes, restaurants etc. do spend some time before the transfer).
On the return journey, we leave the chalet at approx. 7am to ensure there is ample time to reach the airport, particularly in peak weeks when traffic is busy, or when there is heavy snow fall. We ask that no departure flights are booked to depart Geneva prior to 12.30pm at the earliest. If you have a later return flight and have some time to spare, when we drop you at Geneva airport we can direct you to left luggage and there is a train from the airport terminal into Geneva centre which only takes 7 minutes and is a nice way to spend the afternoon or have a long lunch.
Transfers to / from Chambery airport are also possible. Our transfer minibuses can travel via Chambery airport en route from Geneva to the chalet (and vice versa on the return journey).
The transfer minibus will pass through Chambery at approx. 1530 on the outbound journey and around 0830-0900 on the homeward journey, so we require flights into Chambery to land before 1430 and depart the following week after 1130.
There is a surcharge for the Chambery pickup / drop off of £20pp.
No need to book the whole chalet, just book the room or rooms of your choice.
An under-occupancy charge will apply if, for instance, you have one person in a twin / double room, two people in a triple room or three people in a quad room (£250 per bed).
All prices quoted include the full package of catered chalet accommodation, 6 day lift pass, ski or snowboard hire and return airport transfers (subject to flight times) from Geneva or Chambery airports.
Discounts are available for kids aged 12 and under or having your own ski or snowboard equipment.
Prices do not include flights or travel insurance.
All holidays can be paid for in interest-free monthly instalments from the time of booking until the month prior to the holiday starting. Exact instalment amounts will be advised upon receiving your booking requirements.
